What you need to consider before setting up your website…
This website runs on the free website building software called wordpress (more detailed definition below) which is used by millions of people online in the world.
I am going to teach you how to get a website like this up and running
today. Once you have achieved this you can start customizing it

To get started. you just need three things:
- A domain, this is the name of your website. For this site it is www.make-a-web-site.com, for you it might be yourdomain.com you will learn how to get a free domain below.
- Web Hosting, this is needed so that people can view your website on the internet.
- WordPress, this is needed to build your website. Once installed, you can add and remove pages, add a blog, get a free design or get a custom design made for you.
Setting up the above three things shouldn’t take more then around 10 minutes, but if you use the right tools.

explain in more detail what each of the three things are and how they

Registering Your Domain Name
….. Definition: Just like having a
telephone number that is unique to you and only you so people can call
you. A domain name is also unique to you so people can see your website
on the internet. A domain name is your unique address that can be used
on the internet. It is what you see after the “www.” in your browser and
its what comes after the @ symbol in your email. For example
tom@gmail.com, where www.gmail.com is the domain name.
Your domain is important. Coming up with the name shouldn’t be hard.
It should either be a cool catchy name or a description of what the site
is about. For example, facebook.com is cool and catchy and has nothing
to do about social network. On the other hand creditcards.com explains
exactly what the website is about.
If you were creating a website about puppy training, a good domain
might be puppytrainingtips.com. I suggest you go for a .com name and try
to keep the name as short as possible.
Normally if you were setting up a website by yourself you would have
to buy a domain on its own, then set it up ready to put your website on
it. This can cost up to $35 per year to register a domain name.
However we have found a better way to register you domain name and
the cool thing is it doesn’t have to cost you a thing. Yep,
it’s absolutely Free the only catch is that when you get your free
domain name you have to purchase it with a special web hosting service
called bluehost.
This is ok because you are going to need a web hosting service for
your domain name anyway. Plus they are low cost and we would recommend
them for website hosting anyway because they are only 1 of 4 of the
thousands of web hosting providers that wordpress personally recommends.

Hosting Your Website.
….. Definition: Just like having a phone
and a phone service provider. You need to have a domain name and a web
hosting provider to see your website on the internet. A hosting service
allows individuals and businesses to make their website accessible to
others on the internet. Web hosts are companies that provide a space on a
server as well as internet connectivity.
You are on my website right now about how to create a website. Do do
this I have to host it on a server in a warehouse somewhere so that you
can come and visit my site. Now if I was to do it myself it would be way
to expensive, that is where a hosting provider comes in. It’s as simple
as you rent some space on a server for about $6 a month and you can put
all your website files on that server so that people can come and look
at your website on the internet, all day, every day.
I personally use Bluehost because
you can get a free domain with them when you use their hosting, plus
they are the only hosting provider with the 4 minute website setup
system and I recommend them because they have 24/7 live support with
american service agents who can help you with all the issues they have.
They don’t charge anything extra for the free domain and the website
builder. But if you went with another company you would have to pay up
to $35 a year extra for a domain name and possibly an extra $100 a year
for hosting.

5 years ago the best recommendation would have been to build a html
website. But like all technology and things internet it evolves and
something better takes its place.
Now I’m not saying html is bad and your old school dreamweaver and
frontpage and all the other old website building platforms. I am saying
